It fills me with pride to know that Bangkok has developed into the "gem capital of the world" and that AIGS has played a vital role in it. Today, AIGS's "Accredited Gemologists" are working in over 60 countries around the world.

Our unique position in the busiest gem & jewelry trading center in the world is the result of years of hard work and innovation by Thai government and leaders in our industry.  I am confident you will share both the excitement and the enjoyment I have found in being part of this dynamic business.

Congratulations on spending your precious time to consider AIGS and Bangkok as a venue for your gemological studies.  Since its founding, AIGS has committed itself to provide the finest education possible to its students. The variety of stones i.e. literally thousands of samples, some rare and unique, have been collected over the years to provide you the necessary knowledge and training for a new career.

AIGS’s dedication to producing world class gemologists has led to expanding its curriculum to include jewelry design programs as well as courses in information technology.

The new Millenium year brings with it many challenges and opportunities, I urge you to embrace those changes by learning, growing with it and benefiting from this very unique opportunity to study at our institute.

After 32 years, AIGS continues to produce some of the world’s finest gemologists. Our gemstone collection continues to grow, with the addition of stones from the newest mines as well as samples of stones with the latest treatments.

With the latest changes in technology, we are now able to offer Distant Learning Courses for those of us who do not have the time to study on campus. Studying on-line, at one’s own pace is one luxury that the internet has brought us. Over the past year, we have doubled our database of inclusion pictures… which will soon be available on-line.

Welcome to AIGS! I am delighted to inform you that AIGS is entering its 32nd year of service in the gems and jewelry industry.  It is with pleasure I reiterate our commitment and dedication in meeting international standards and raising the level of gems and jewelry educational training and gems testing services in Thailand.

I am proud to say that the Accredited Gemologist (A.G) Diploma continues to receive recognition.  Many of our graduates enjoy important job positions and many more have become successful business owners in a very short span of time.

For the coming year, 2010, AIGS will be expanding our courses in jewelry design, diamond grading, quality grading; and adding new programs such as gemstone cutting, gemstone sorting, and visits to the gemstone mines.  In addition, to keep abreast with the ever advancing IT world, AIGS has invested in IT infrastructure to develop an online "knowledge bank" so our students may benefit from the know-how and experience of the leading experts and scientists in the various fields from around the world.

It will be a very exciting year ahead.  I look forward to seeing you at AIGS!
